There are a lot of problems in this world, but with today’s technical capabilities – us being unable to understand and appreciate one another shouldn’t be one of them.  

You may ask – How can this be done, wouldn’t it require an army of employees to run this and still ultimately have faceless corporate executives decide what we see? 

CivilSpeak is revolutionary yet beautifully simple that will require a very small overhead.  It intelligently uses 6 key components to handle your input and the input of others to ensure that the resulting content is legitimate and civil – ensuring that CivilSpeak will deliver accurate yet inspirational content that represents the real sentiment of you and your community.

1. CROWD SOURCING:

The first and most important component is … YOU..  every time you submit content, it is reviewed by at least 2 other users, and you, in turn, review their content.  The engine intelligently assigns content to be reviewed  to ensure influencers can’t game the system and pass false news or other manipulative content.

2. CIVCENTS ECONOMY:

The second component is an ideal economy… The  web and mobile service is free; however you earn and spend a currency called civ cents that can only be earned by helping review the content of others.  It cannot be bought or sold with real money, this ensures that no one can buy influence – only earn it by helping others.  This currency is meant to reflect an ideal economy of actual political capital. 

For example… When you submit content, you spend some of your civ cents, and that civ cents is then paid to at least 2 others to review your content.  You can then earn back those civ cents by reviewing the content of others.  Again, the engine intelligently assigns the content to review making it very difficult for influencers to manipulate and disrupt the legitimacy and civility of the content.

3. THE CREDIBILITY SCORE:

Over time, as you are active on civil speak, the engine will adapt to your strengths and weaknesses in sharing and reviewing content. It manages our 3rd component… a credibility score that helps the engine predict how many people it will take to review your content, and how reliable you are at reviewing certain content.  Ultimately, this credibility score allows civil speak to adjust the cost for the content you contribute, and how much you earn for your reviews.

4. THE FACT CHECKING MARKETPLACE:

The 4th component is a fact checking marketplace – this does require actual money but revolutionizes the ability for the world to sift through the facts and fiction that we are told every day. As users enter unverified facts into Civil Speak, 3rd party fact checkers can bid to have these facts verified through a clearly defined and structured process. Competing fact checkers provide pressure to ensure that the fact checking is done effectively. These fact checkers establish a credibility score over time that helps you determine your own confidence of the facts you are being told.

5. A GUIDED CIVIL EXPERIENCE:

The 5th component is a user incentive experience we call “Badges”. When you do actions that help or hinder a civil and enlightening experience for others, Civil Speak lets you know through badges that either reward or remind you of how your actions are affecting others. 

These badges look like playing cards, and their art work changes at least once a year.  You may get one when you are only sharing your views but not looking at the views of others. Or you may get one when you are actively considering the viewpoints of others.

These badges help you easily stay aware of your activity and makes you mindful if your activity is helping or hurting your credibility score.  It’s also an opportunity to help remind yourself that you are interacting with real people and what real world affect you are having on the community.

6. MY DATA MANAGEMENT:

The 6th component that makes this service possible around the world is the “My data management” feature.  You may say – I don’t like using websites like this because I don’t know what data about me is being collected.  Or if you live under an oppressive government, you may not feel safe sharing your views through a web or mobile service.

  Civil Speak provides you with a view into ALL YOUR personally identifiable information (PII) that is being collected, and allows you the ability to view and delete that data as needed.  It is also designed so that users under oppressive governments will still be able to share their perspectives and ideas more safely – for example you can set your account setting to NEVER capture any PII if you wish.  Of course some of the non essential functions will be limited if you do this. This is a feature that is essential to making this service safe and available to everyone on our planet!
